I had Lintula for WRIT 1120. I dreaded this class because I hate writing papers, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am so glad I had Lintula. I thought she made expectations very clear, and went above and beyond to help everyone do well. You do seriously need to attend all classes, she often assigns in class assignments that if you don't attend you'll lose points for. Also, really do the homework, don't blow it off. Most of the assignments aren't that hard anyway, just they can be time consuming. There is a huge amount of research and writing that she requires, but, if you put in the time, it does really help you with your final paper. Just don't get behind, if you keep up with the deadlines and don't procrastinate, it's manageable. All requirements for assignments are clearly spelled out, but if you have any questions at all she will work with you by email or in her office, so there really is no excuse for failing this class. WRIT 1120 is a pain, and it's going to be a lot of work and pretty boring, if you are and incoming freshman who can't get out of taking WRIT 1120, just expect it to be a class you're going to have to put in a lot of work for. But, if you can, I highly recommend taking it with Lintula. She tries to add some humor and interest to the class, is very personable, and really wants everyone to succeed and will do what ever it takes to help you if you just ask. | |
Terrible.. well sorry i shouldnt say that, she was pregnant when i had her so who knows how she was feeling personally but i had a horrible experience with her and that class in general. Go from a c- in college writing and a A- in Advanced Writing.. Interesting |
